Pubs in the City always close on weekends because the only people who drink there live in the suburbs at the week ends.
[b]D'Olivier thank you so much for doing that!! What were your impressions of the landlord? Was he asking for a deposit just in case no-one showed up or was it more a finacial incentive? I can't afford to pay the £300 deposit, ...[text shortened]... y are really.
Again, thank you so much for doing a recon, it's much appretiated! 😀

I can't believe I actually live in London and we're looking at going to a place which will be harder for me to get to than sasquatch!
Actually, I don't mind really, though I will have to get back to Waterloo by 12:00 or I'll turn into a pumpkin. A homeless pumpkin at that 🙂
OK, spoke to the Landlord (nice guy), said reserving some seats and tables was no problem. He doesn't own the boards and clocks, etc... but I'm going to email someone from the club to see if it;s possible to borrow them. (On Kings head website it says non-members can use them, but they have to pay a deposit that is refunded on return, so it shouldn't be a problem...)
I asked if we could reserve some tables and chairs so we can sit down, which he was fine with and we don't have to pay any money for this to happen so i am now convinced this is the place for us! If no one has any objections I'll contact kings head chess club and sort things out for the 19th of November. Anyone got any issues? 🙂
